|
Internships in Bethesda are located on the main campus of the National Institutes of Health. Interns work in Building 31, the Claude Denson Pepper Building, which is on the northeast side of campus. Bethesda offices include:
- Mass Media Office
- Office of Communications Coordination
Getting to Building 31 by Metro:
The easiest way to get onto the NIH campus is by Metrorail. Take the red line toward Shady Grove, and get off at the Medical Center stop. When you come up the escalator, walk straight ahead on South Drive into campus. Follow South Drive as it curves to the right, becoming Center Drive. As Center Drive curves to the left, Building 31 is the tall building that is just around the curve on the right.
Driving Directions:
Take I-495 (Capital Beltway) to exit 34, Rockville Pike (355) South. Follow Rockville Pike South for ½ mile. After crossing Cedar Lane, you will be on the perimeter of the NIH campus. Due to increased security, cars without NIH parking permits can only enter the NIH campus at 1) South Drive and Rockville Pike (24 Hours Daily) or 2) Center Drive and Old Georgetown Road (24 Hours Daily). From 355/Rockville Pike, turn right onto South Drive. Be prepared to have your car searched.
Proceed on South Drive as it curves to the right, becoming Center Drive. As Center Drive curves to the left, Building 31 is the tall building that is just around the curve on the right. Visitor parking is on the left, directly across from Building 31.
